What later flowering plants can I put in a raised bed?

I have a raised bed that is planted woth roses at the back. In front of them are anenomes that have died down now, what do you recommend planting to fill the bed that is late flowering and low growing? Low growing perennials preferred. Has to be frost hardy.

Reply:I really like Asters. They are better than mums for the fall. The purple ones are really pretty.
Reply:Japanese flowering white anemone
Reply:why don't you try some of the hostas lovely plants and look good also quite hardy
Reply:Good old pansies, lots of colour, and you can get perennial pansies.
Reply:peony
Reply:Dahlias are late flowering, you lift the roots for the winter and replant next July. There are loads of different shapes, colours and sizes.

One plant that goes really well with roses is Lavendar, I'd use Munstead Dwarf. The scent helps keep aphids off the roses and the colour scheme is usually complimentary.Shoes
