Is it time yet to start planting flowers?

Amazing. Every year one part of the country has a warm or really cold spell. When it is warm everyone becomes the country farmer.

The general rules can be found by contacting your local County Extension Agent. In a nutshell the soil temp, not the air temp, is the guideline.

Annuals should not be planted before Mid-May in northern areas. They can be planted as early as Feb. the further south you go. Perennial bulbs and plants generally go into the ground around Thanksgiving in the north, and Halloween to the South. Trees and shrubs, with proper care can go in at any time the soil is not frozen and can accept water for at least two weeks. Good Luck

Reply:you could start.
Reply:That is up to you to decide.
Reply:Not until there is no chance of frost, which is not this week, I know that. Most people use the Mother's Day rule or after.
Reply:yes it is about time.
Reply:That depends on what part of the country you live in. Flowers should not be planted outdoors until after the last frost date in your area. If you don't know when that is, contact your county Ag Extension agent, or consult a growing zone map. Growing zone maps can be found in any seed catalog.makeup tips
