Sunny backyard slope that needs plants/ flower on it.What type should I buy that doesn't need much maintenance

I am in California and it's 95+ in the summer and it's very sunny on the slope for about 8 hours durning the day. I will be hard to care for anything because of the hight of the slope. It has sprinklers so it will be watered. I am new at this gardning thing.

Go to a local nursery and ask them, They'd be glad to help. That way you can also see what the plant looks like and you can choose. If you don't use that slope and just want to cover it with something, get some kind of sprawling plant, that will cover the area.

Reply:I don't live in California but I am moving into an apartment townhouse where half the back yard is just a steep slope. I have been looking into getting a seed mat, which is a mat (like a carpet mat) that has seeds already in place. You just unroll the mat, loosen it (follow directions) and keep it watered. Very simple and they come in a wide variety of flowers.

Here's a couple of links that explain more (and probably better than I did) about what they are and how to use them.

Reply:Get some flowering cactus plants. You only have to water them like every other week and they are very neat and pretty when flowered
Reply:mixed wildflowers, only use a power trimer one time a year, hows that for low maintance.
Reply:first try planting a few trees. you have to get the ones that can stand the heat and then you could plant rananculus, mint, because they do not need much caregenealogy mormon
