When do you start planting flowers?

I have sunflowers and just some other little seeds you buy in a pack. Is now to soon?

Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy Flowersit is too soon, look on any pack of seeds for the best time in your zone, the ground is still too cold in the north for seed germination and even if they did sprout the frost can still come and kill them, sunflowers do not tolerate frost.
Reply:Look on the package of seeds for planting instructions in your zone.

I usually wait until after Mother's Day to put flowers into the beds.
Reply:i've been planted flowers since i was 7 years old although my friends laughed at me that it was only 4 girls.i like chilly red rose.
Reply:You can start them inside if you get those lil starter kits,I like to plant bulbs in the fall so they come up in the spring and I practically did nothing to help them, just space them a lil and you have beautiful spring flowers. If you do lillies they will last until fall sometimes!!! Have fun
Reply:Around the second week of May is probablly the safest time. I live in Indiana and we usually plant ours on Derby weekend. (Kentucky Derby!)puppy teeth
