Homework: Plants flowering period [1 mark]?

Full Question i am stuck on:

Each species of grass has a short period in summer during which it flowers and releases pollen. For most species this period is only about two weeks. Suggest ONE advantage to a species of having such a short flowering period.
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersEach species is most likely to flower during the time that it is most likely to survive. ie will flower in the right temp., water etc. Plants with a limited reproductive period also tends to have less intraspecies competition for resources.

Hope this helps!
Reply:By flowering the plant is concentrating it's energies on producing and maintaining the flower - by short term use of the flower, it's energies can be concentrated on growing the main sructure of the plant itself.

Possibly and advantage as it maintains itself as a strong plant for longer periodsloan
