What kind of flowering plants attract hummingbirds? sunny area.?

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersSome of the plants I have had success with in attracting hummingbirds are the following, and most don't need a lot of water.


Trumpet vine, honeysuckle vine [ I have found hummingbird nests in the honeysuckle vine], bee balm,[ love the lemon mint scent of bee balm], larkspurs, the red flowers of canna plants, and zinnias. Phlox, columbine, petunia,


Most of these plants can take a dry sunny place with little water.
Reply:hummingbirds are attracted to many flowering shrubs and perennials, but particularily to plants with tubular shaped flowers and shades of red.
Reply:add mexican sage to the previous answers for an easy maintenence, full sun, drought tollerant landscape.
Reply:Hummingbirds love snowball bushes, lilac bushes, hibiscus, trumpet flower, fuschia. All but the fuschia love lots of sun.

red salvia, purple phlox, impatiens, trumpet vine (orange).
Reply:i don't know the Latin name but they like whats commonly called the trumpet flower, ask at a good plant nursery
