Someone gave me a few young Marigold plants and they are now a foot high with no flowers. What's wrong?

PROBABLY NOTHING FOR NOW. SOME ARE VERY SHORT AND THERE ARE MANY VARIETIES THAT GET VERY TALL. IF THEY START GETTING WEIRD LOOKING THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE LOST THEIR HYBRID AND WON'T DO ANYTHING. AND FERTILIZER WON'T MAKE ANYTHING BLOOM, IT WILL JUST GROW. MARIGOLDS WILL GROW IN ANYTHING, TOO. GIVE THEM A LITTLE TIME. SAVE THE SEEDS IF THEY DO BLOOM AND PLANT THEM NEXT YEAR... GOOD LUCK...

Reply:You could try fertilizer, try a name brand like Miracle grow. Follow directions on the back to a T. Usually the liquid kind is the best and water at the same time. If that does not work try a premium soil, which usually has perlite or vermiculite in it or Container soil or annual soil. Just watch out for Miracle grow soil. It already has fertilizer in it.
