Reply:dont know if there is some special rule for courgettes but from what i remember a flower is both male and female. the female parts need to be "impregnated" by the pollen from another courgette flower, hence making the baby.....the courgette.
so answer to you r question, no if you remove the flower you will get no courgettes at all.
Reply:i think that's what the courgettes grow from, when i've seen just picked courgettes, they have flowers on the end like carrots have green stuff. unless there are male and female flowers. sorry, not sure

Reply:I grow them and dont snap any off you might be getting them confused with cucumbers which you snap the male flowers of to stop them tasting sour.Soles
