Is it still a good time to plant flowers that are already grown?

I just moved and the front and back yards are very plain... it needs color. would it be possible to still go to Home Depot's garden center and just buy flats of flowers that are already grown? Is it bad timing (season wise)? If so.. what flowers would you recommend that are pretty much annuals?

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersIf you are in the tropics or sub-tropics, it is ok to plant annuals, but if you are in any other zone, you need to wait until spring or early summer to plant annuals. As far as other plants, especially the evergreens, you can plant them now, but be certain that they get enough water. The winter cool or cold will kill annuals this time of year.
Reply:hey the stores usually keep up with the seasons so try planting pansies
Reply:I plant mine this time of the year, but I live in south Florida
Reply:If you live in the south, a good colorful flower is the pansy. It does grow in cool weather. Home Depot should have the correct type of plant for the season. Ask an associate for advice about their flowers. There are also some vines that are evergreens that present flowers in the Winter. Hollies are very pretty, producing red berries in the winter for birds, should you want to attract birds.Shoes
