Best flowering plants to grow in hot weather.?

I would like to know the best flowering plants to grow in Texas. Also what are the best plants to grow in rocky soil.

depending on your location in Texas you are in zone 7, 8 or 9 possibly zone 6 if you are in the panhandle so check the flowering plants for the hardiness and you should be set
Reply:Lantana and verbena are good, as are ice plants and other succulents. Your best bet is to find your local university extension office and ask them. They can give you a list of plants to fit your needs. You can probably find them with a Search online, as well as by using the Master Gardener keyword.

Reply:Coreopsis is a good flowering plant that will bloom from June until October. It will take full sun and will also grow in rocky soil......several different varities and colors. This plant is also a perennial. It is very pretty!

Reply:verbena, moss rose portulaca, purslane, any cactus or succulent, hibiscus (or any tropical), banana tree, forsythia. I have all this at my house plus more that has partial shade. I see a lot of people in my neighborhood with mandevilla, crepe myrtle, wisteria, and oleander. I used to have some vinca and some cockscomb. My mom has loads of lantana and pride of barbados. We just bought some sweet memory (purple and white) from Home depot yesterday. Sage and purple heather should work well.
