Flowering plants?

Ok, I need some help here...

1. Why did flowering plants took so long to develop in the Earth's history?

2.What are some of the adaptations that flowering plants have in order for them to surive?

Thank You Very Much!!

The early ones by generalist pollinators like beetles, more specialized ones by bees, birds etc. Flowering plants developed late because they needed to co-evolve with pollinators ... if there were no pollinators, there was no selection pressure that would drive development of flowers. Wind pollination in flowering plants (best example is grasses, but there are other well-known examples, like Cannabis) re-developed later.
Reply:Flowers is an evolutionary adaptation of plants for better reproduction. Production of this requires a lot of energy that's why it took so long for them to develop in history( I mean priority wise, why would they spend a lot of energy).

I think the most important adaptation of flowering plants is the formation of seeds. Seeds being a form of reproduction is much more effective than that of the gymposperm's way. Seeds can withstand dessication. They can also travel for long distances via different vectors (wind, water and animals among others). They can also remain dormant during adverse conditions and grow when the conditions become favorable.hairstyles hair style
