i dont want deer to eat my flowers and plants!!!!
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersThe very best thing to do is to ask at your local nursery. Deer will eat differently from one area to the next. A local nursery will be more adept at advising what is good for your area.
I have personally seen them eat Oleander! I am sure they had a HUGE tummy ache after that.
Having said that, here is a nursery that specializes in deer resistant plants. Check it out and read up on it. http://www.deerxlandscape.com/
There are a ton of deer resistant lists on the net too, but again it will be hard to know for certain if it will work. Remember, some plants will be browsed by deer when young and then left alone when mature. As long as they just nibble on the young leaves, the roots will stay intact and eventually will grow and mature. If the deer rip out the young plantings, that obviously is devastating. You can protect the new plants with netting and remove it when the plants are mature also. Deer netting is cheap and you really can't see it from 25 feet back or so.
Here is just one list to see: http://www.wvu.edu/~agexten/hortcult/tre...
Deer tend to stay away from gray leaved plants and pungent smelling plants as a rule of thumb. They may ravage a plant one year and leave it alone the next.
Hope this information helps some. Best of luck.
