I live in southern GA so it is very hot during the day already. The soil in my yard is a little sandy, so I'm guessing that the water drains from it really quickly. I water usually every morning, and feed once a week. I know you probably can't tell me with out knowing what kind of flowers they are, but what are the normal signs for over watering? I think they look OK but a little brown on the edges of the leaves and petals. They were just Home Depot ready to plant flowers...nothing exotic. I never water in the heat of the day...Usually at night or early in the morning. I know nothing about gardening.
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersA little brown on the edges is one sign of over watering. I think I would back off just a little. Perhaps water the same time, but less water to the plant or same amount, every other day. Sounds like your doing everything else right.
Reply:contact your nearby any local authority who is concerned about gardening
Reply:You might consider watering them once every two or three days. Over watering usually means they rot. Feeding them once a week in a sandy soil isn't a bad thing at all but it does sound like you may be watering them a bit too much. Even though it's sandy it doesn't mean that all of the water is gone in one day but by watering them every day, you are washing away most of the plant food.
Thank goodness that you don't have the clay soil of northern Georgia where the water runs off and has a hard time of getting to the plants.
Slow your watering down to once every two to three days and you should be fine, they they aren't drooping by the third day you'll know they are doing fine.
Hope they do well for you.super nanny
